Background:
Brisbane is set to welcome a senior delegation from Dubai Health as part of an initiative connecting Australian and UAE organisations in health innovation and advanced manufacturing. The visit is organised under the Australia-UAE Innovation Alliance Programme, which aims to foster collaboration between clinicians, researchers, industry experts, and government stakeholders from both countries.
The programme, jointly led by Queensland University of Technology, Dubai Health, and the ARM Hub, focuses on advancing health, biomedical innovation, and manufacturing capabilities. During the visit, discussions will centre on improving healthcare delivery, supporting translational research, and exploring emerging technologies.
Sam Jesuadian, Chief Commercial Officer at the ARM Hub, highlighted the growing international interest in Australia as a partner for health innovation. He said, “Australia has a strong capability to transform complex biomedical research into practical solutions. Through the ARM Hub, we bring together clinicians, researchers, and industry partners to ensure innovations move from the laboratory to real-world applications safely and efficiently.”
The delegation’s schedule includes visits to the Translational Research Institute, Gold Coast Knowledge and Health Precinct, Wesley Medical Research, and the ARM Hub. These visits aim to show how Queensland turns research into real-world healthcare and industrial solutions. They will highlight local rules and regulations, manufacturing capabilities, and collaboration between healthcare providers, researchers, and industry.
Jesuadian also mentioned that working with international health systems, like Dubai Health, gives Australian companies opportunities to test, improve, and expand their technologies while reaching global markets.
The delegation will take part in a panel discussion on Innovation in Healthcare Sustainability at the Translational Research Institute. Queensland and Dubai Health experts will discuss healthcare challenges, patient care, and sustainability.
The Australia-UAE Innovation Alliance is a long-term project with research, pilots, and training. Insights from Brisbane will guide future UAE activities and workshops.
