Background-

Saudi Arabia outlined its health reforms and new partnerships at the World Health Assembly in Geneva. The Kingdom showed progress in building a modern, digital and strong healthcare system and launched a Global Virtual Health Alliance with the World Economic Forum.

The Saudi delegation highlighted key reforms in the health system, including stronger public health policies, expanded healthy city programs and better disease prevention measures.

Officials said the country has raised life expectancy to about 80 years and increased its network of healthy cities recognized by the World Health Organization.

Saudi Arabia also showcased its national health supply chain model. The system brings procurement, logistics, and distribution into one framework and uses real-time data to reduce delays. Officials said it helps deliver medical supplies quickly to most regions and improves response during disruptions.

The Kingdom said its health strategy focuses on prevention, efficiency, and digital tools in healthcare. It also stressed cooperation with global organizations to improve access to healthcare and support innovation.

At the same event, Saudi Arabia and the World Economic Forum launched the Global Virtual Health Alliance. The initiative aims to expand virtual healthcare and improve access to digital care. Officials said the goal is to support equal access to healthcare and reduce gaps between regions.

Saudi representatives also met health ministers and global health organizations to strengthen cooperation in public health, research, and digital health systems.

The delegation said Saudi Arabia plans to share its healthcare model and support global efforts to improve health system strength.
