Background :
Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, a subsidiary of PureHealth and one of the UAE’s leading hospitals for serious and complex care, held its first Inpatient Smart Room and Innovation Expo in Abu Dhabi. The event drew healthcare professionals, technology partners and industry experts to look at what’s next in healthcare delivery.
Interactive innovation kiosks and live technology demonstrations gave attendees a hands-on look at digital health solutions, smart patient care tools and emerging innovations built to improve patient experience, clinical efficiency and overall care outcomes.
Discussions at the expo centred on the hospital’s digital transformation, touching on smart healthcare technologies, AI-enabled tools and connected care models now taking shape across patient-centred care.
SSMC said the expo underlines its ongoing focus on quality, built through collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem and the adoption of technologies that support compassionate care while making treatment safer, smarter and more centred on patients.
Founded in 2019, SSMC ranks among the UAE’s largest tertiary hospitals, running 679 patient beds, 18 operating theatres including a hybrid operating room, and a 26-bed neonatal intensive care unit.
The hospital covers 76 specialties, backed by advanced diagnostic and treatment tools that bring high-level care closer to patients across the UAE and the broader region.
PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, runs a network of more than 110 hospitals, over 316 clinics, diagnostic centres, insurance offerings, pharmacies and health technology ventures.
The group is working to advance the science of longevity, extending future-focused healthcare from the UAE outward to the rest of the world.
