Background

Arab Therapy, which is an AI-based mental healthcare firm, has received $2 million in a Pre-Series A investment to launch its services in Saudi Arabia and other regions in the region.

Manara Ventures, a Jordan-based venture capital firm, led the round, with participation from Anara Impact Fund and Saudi Arabia-based VMS. The company plans to use the funding to scale its AI-powered platform, improve access to personalised mental healthcare and expand employee wellbeing programmes for organisations.

Founded in Berlin by Jordanian entrepreneurs Dr Tareq Dalbah, CEO, and Hekmat Al Hasi, CPTO, Arab Therapy currently operates in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Germany and Egypt.

The platform combines a large mental health content library with Arabic-language AI tools and online therapy delivered by licensed specialists. Its clinical framework operates under the supervision of certified professionals affiliated with the University of Hamburg in Germany.

Arab Therapy serves individuals through its consumer platform and businesses through enterprise programmes focused on employee mental health and wellbeing.

The company is targeting a significant gap in Arabic-language mental healthcare. More than 400 million people speak Arabic across the Middle East and North Africa, while an estimated 30 million to 50 million Arabs live outside the region. However, much of the global digital mental health market continues to focus on English-language services.

Arab Therapy said demand for culturally relevant mental health support is increasing as awareness of mental wellbeing grows across Arab communities. At the same time, access to appropriate services remains limited in several countries across the region.

The firm seeks to create an Arab-first digital mental health ecosystem through integration of technology and professional services. The firm’s regional expansion strategy will be to make personalized solutions more accessible as well as solve organizational challenges regarding their employees’ wellbeing.
