Background-
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, paid tribute to top healthcare professionals, specialists and institutions at the sixth Annual Health Awards 2026, held at Grand Hyatt Dubai. The ceremony, held under his patronage, drew 1,000 guests, including dignitaries and leaders from the public and private healthcare sectors.
The awards covered more than 50 categories, including clinical excellence, surgical innovation, public health, wellness leadership, education, research and patient care. Organizers also recognized 15 UAE nationals for their growing role in the country’s healthcare system.
Sheikh Nahyan said the awards honor people and institutions whose skill and dedication strengthen healthcare in the UAE. He noted that doctors, nurses and teams from many nationalities work side by side, which shows tolerance and coexistence in daily practice. He urged young Emiratis to follow the example of the national winners and pursue careers in medicine.
He thanked the families of the winners during the Year of the Family and said artificial intelligence is helping doctors detect disease, though it cannot replace compassion or ethical judgment.
Knight Frank served as Knowledge Partner and carried out an independent, audited review of every nomination with a jury of senior clinicians, academics and industry leaders. Thumbay Group Founder President Dr. Thumbay Moideen thanked Sheikh Nahyan for his support. Health Magazine, part of Thumbay Media, organized the event, and winners will receive coverage across its print, digital, television and social channels.
