Background :
Acarix AB has secured the green light to sell the CADScor System commercially across the UAE, after approval from the Emirates Drug Establishment and the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
The clearance marks the Swedish medical device firm’s first move into the Gulf region and broadens access to its point-of-care diagnostic tool, which pairs highly sensitive acoustics with advanced computational analysis and AI to evaluate coronary blood flow.
The tool assists in ruling out significant coronary artery disease among patients showing chest pain or shortness of breath, producing a patient-specific result within 10 minutes and enabling earlier risk assessment.
Aamir Mahmood, President and CEO of Acarix, said coronary artery disease remained a significant health concern across the Gulf, with the current diagnostic process still slower and more resource-heavy than necessary.
According to him, bringing the CADScor System into the UAE would arm frontline clinicians with a fast, non-invasive method for ruling out the condition at the point of care, benefiting both patients and clinicians.
Acarix’s UAE entry also opens the door to broader expansion across the Gulf Cooperation Council, a region where large patient volumes and mature clinical infrastructure create strong demand for tools that sharpen triage and reduce strain on cardiac imaging and catheterization labs.
Beji George, Head of Global Strategy at Acarix, described the UAE launch as a calculated move to position CADScor as a first-line diagnostic aid in high-value markets, pointing to the region’s infrastructure and readiness for pathway-improving technology.
UniTech Solutions will serve as Acarix’s commercial partner in bringing the system to market, overseeing distribution, clinical support and account development throughout the region.
Majed Aboalazm, Chief Executive Officer of UniTech Solutions, said the collaboration would equip cardiologists and emergency teams with a fast, dependable method to rule out coronary artery disease early in the diagnostic process.
