Background:

Arabian Ethicals, part of the Ghobash Group, led a panel on cell and gene therapy at WHX Dubai 2026, bringing together global healthcare leaders to share knowledge and discuss new medical treatments.

Ebru Yavuz, General Manager of Arabian Ethicals UAE, moderated the panel. She guided discussions on practical challenges, such as the need for specialised facilities, trained teams, and clear care pathways. Speakers also discussed responsible scaling as demand for advanced therapies grows.

The panel included Prof. Marcos De Lima from Ohio State University and Rabi Hanna from Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, both experts in stem cell and pediatric therapies. Both experts shared insights from established transplant and cellular therapy programmes in the United States. The panel highlighted improvements in treatment outcomes while discussing the practical, clinical, and ethical challenges of using new therapies in daily practice.

Pediatric care was a major focus. Experts emphasized careful patient selection, long-term follow-up, and readiness of hospitals, especially for children. They also noted that academic medical centres help set standards and support steady growth in the field.

Yavuz said that while cell and gene therapy is advancing quickly, healthcare systems need to adopt it safely and in an organized way. She added that platforms like WHX Dubai help industry leaders and clinicians share practical experience and build stronger collaboration.

The session supported the UAE’s healthcare vision through 2031, which focuses on quality care, innovation and integrated services. Arabian Ethicals said its participation reflects its continued commitment to advancing specialised healthcare practices across the region.
