In the honourable presence of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Aster DM Healthcare, one of the GCC’s largest integrated healthcare providers, has signed a master research collaboration agreement with the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) to boost innovation and research in the healthcare sector.

The signing happened at the Sharjah Next: Healthcare Forum, a two-day event that gathered global experts, academics, and industry leaders to discuss the future of biotechnology, medical research, and healthcare innovation.

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, and Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, signed the agreement in front of Dr. Malathi Arshanapalai, Chief Medical and Quality Officer of Aster DM Healthcare.

Under this partnership, Aster and SPARK will collaborate on joint research projects focused on medical technology development, artificial intelligence in diagnostics, bio-innovation, and data-driven healthcare solutions. The goal is to create a strong innovation ecosystem that links academia, research institutions, and industry, turning research into real-world applications.

Alisha Moopen said the partnership strengthens Aster’s commitment to driving healthcare innovation through collaboration and knowledge sharing. “By integrating Aster’s clinical expertise with SPARK’s innovation ecosystem, our goal is to create innovative care models and position the UAE as a global leader in medical excellence,” she added.

Dr. Asma Mahmoud Fikri, Director of Government and Corporate Partnerships at SPARK, said the collaboration will link top healthcare providers with advanced research to achieve real results for patients.

The partnership also includes frameworks for intellectual property management, data protection, and joint academic programs, supporting the UAE’s vision for a sustainable and innovation-led healthcare future.
