Background-
Saudi Arabia’s aid agency KSrelief has carried out a wide range of humanitarian programmes across Cameroon, Gaza, Yemen, Afghanistan and Sudan, focusing on healthcare support and food assistance for vulnerable communities.
In Cameroon, KSrelief implemented its Noor program to fight blindness and eye diseases in Yaounde. In just one week, volunteer doctors and nurses treated 4,679 people, provided 926 pairs of glasses, and carried out 448 eye surgeries. The programme worked to better eye care and reduce vision problems that could be prevented in the region.
In Gaza, KSrelief provided urgent food support to families affected by ongoing conflict. The agency distributed 25,000 hot meals to vulnerable people in central and southern areas. It also handed out 1,422 food baskets in Deir Al-Balah and Al-Qarara in Khan Younis, reaching more than 22,000 people in need.
Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the aid helped them meet basic needs during difficult conditions.
In Yemen’s Aden governorate, KSrelief distributed 326 food baskets to families who lost their main breadwinners. The support reached 1,141 people facing financial hardship.
In Afghanistan’s Panjshir province, the agency provided 294 food baskets to returnees, displaced families, orphans and other vulnerable groups. Around 1,764 people benefited from this assistance.
In Sudan’s Al-Jazirah state, KSrelief handed out 1,000 boxes of dates to 4,327 people, providing food aid during an ongoing humanitarian crisis.
KSrelief continues to deliver medical help and food aid to communities affected by poverty, conflict and displacement. The programmes work to reach as many people as possible and address urgent needs such as healthcare and food.
