Background
UAE-based women’s health startup Nabta Health has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A funding round, strengthening its plans to expand its AI-powered hybrid care model across the Middle East and Africa. With the latest round, the company’s total funding has reached $4.5 million.
Nabta Health said the fresh investment will support its efforts to build new diagnostic and at-home testing pathways, deepen its clinical infrastructure and grow strategic partnerships with hospitals, insurers, and employers. The company aims to integrate its hybrid model more closely into existing healthcare systems to make women’s health services more accessible and efficient.
Founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith, Nabta Health offers a hybrid model that combines digital tools, home-based testing and in-clinic care. Its services span fertility, pregnancy, chronic disease management and preventive health. The startup positions its approach as a culturally aware and evidence-based solution designed specifically for women in the region.
Smith said the new funding “validates” Nabta Health’s belief that women’s healthcare in the Middle East and Africa can be redesigned through an AI-supported model that meets women’s needs in their preferred settings. She noted that the next phase will focus on scaling access and improving measurable outcomes for women across the region.
A major part of the expansion will involve introducing new diagnostic and home-testing options that connect directly to hospital and clinic care. An AI layer will help triage patient needs and streamline coordination across different services. The company also plans to strengthen its clinical partnerships, including its newly launched Women’s Health Centre of Excellence with Clemenceau Medical Center Hospital in Dubai.
Chair Iain McMillan said Nabta Health has continued to grow its customer base through 2025 and expects the new capital to support faster expansion into 2026 and beyond.
