Healthcare is only as strong as the people who make it work — the doctors, nurses, and specialists who care for patients every day. Seema Zaidi saw a real need in the Arab world to connect healthcare institutions with the right talent, especially in highly specialized fields. What started as a personal journey to find balance between work and family grew into Fast Track Solutions, a company changing the way healthcare recruitment happens across the region. This is her story of passion, persistence, and making a real difference where it counts.
Let’s explore how Seema is reshaping healthcare recruitment across the Arab world with vision and impact!
A Bold New Path
In 2013, Seema took a bold step that would shape the course of her career and the future of specialized healthcare recruitment in the Arab region. After working in the banking sector, Seema chose to walk on a more flexible and impactful path, one that allowed her to balance her professional aspirations with family life.
With a keen eye for market needs and a deep sense of purpose, she founded Fast Track Solutions, a healthcare recruitment consultancy that has since become synonymous with excellence in the GCC region.
Seema’s inspiration was a mixture of her personal goals as well as strategic insights from what’s happening around her. “My husband was already leading a pharmaceutical company called Pharma Solutions,” she recalls. “But I wanted to create something of my own. Something that gave me autonomy and flexibility. Back then, working from home was not the norm, but I embraced it to pursue my entrepreneurial journey.”
Identifying a Market Gap and Building a Niche
Fast Track Solutions was born from a gap in the market that she clearly identified. While several recruitment firms focused on sectors like IT and oil and gas, very few catered specifically to healthcare and even fewer specialized in recruiting super-specialized doctors. “We saw a need for niche recruitment services, where hospitals required not just any doctor, but a consultant with a specific subspecialty and qualifications from the UK or other Western countries,” says Seema. “That’s where we positioned ourselves as a provider of customized recruitment solutions.”
Over the past decade, Fast Track Solutions has transformed from a solo endeavor to a global operation. Starting in Dubai, the company has expanded its presence across the UAE and the wider GCC, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. Seema now leads a team of highly skilled recruiters operating from multiple countries, all aligned in their mission to connect world-class talent with leading healthcare institutions in the region.
Understanding the Human Side of Healthcare Recruitment
As Director of Fast Track Solutions, Seema is acutely aware of the sector’s unique challenges and opportunities. “Healthcare recruitment isn’t just about matching a CV to a job description. When a doctor relocates, it’s often an entire family moving. That means considerations around schooling, lifestyle, and spousal employment. We offer full-spectrum support, not just for the professional transition but the personal one too.”
Another significant hurdle lies in licensing. Doctors coming from abroad must navigate complex regulatory processes in the UAE. Seema’s team provides hands-on assistance, staying updated with changing regulations and helping candidates through procedures, exams, and documentation compliance.
“Every licensing body has its own evolving requirements, and we ensure our candidates are fully prepared,” she notes. When it comes to innovation, Seema believes it’s less about technology and more about responsiveness. “Our innovation lies in how we listen to the market. We don’t offer cookie-cutter solutions. If a hospital is looking for a neurosurgeon with a very specific subspecialty, we won’t just send resumes. Instead, we’ll find that exact fit.”
Making a Real Impact in Healthcare
This commitment to precision and quality has positioned Fast Track Solutions as a trusted partner to many of the region’s most prestigious hospitals.
One such project involved placing global key opinion leaders in a state-of-the-art hospital in Saudi Arabia. These were surgeons who later performed procedures that were the first of their kind in the country. “That’s when you realize the real impact of what we do. We’re not just filling positions, we’re contributing to medical advancement,” Seema says with pride.
Championing Diversity and Women’s Empowerment
Seema also champions diversity and inclusion, both within her organization and through the placements she facilitates. Her team includes professionals from the UAE, India, Jordan, the UK, and Saudi Arabia. Many of these women are working remotely. “About 70% of our team is female. We’ve created opportunities for stay-at-home women to re-enter the workforce, balancing their personal and professional goals.”
This focus on women’s empowerment resonates strongly in the broader healthcare landscape. “Women make up around 25–30% of the healthcare workforce in the Middle East, and their contributions are significant whether as doctors, pharmacists, or administrators. I’m proud that our company reflects and supports that change,” she adds.
A Journey of Purpose and Advice for Future Leaders
Looking back, Seema’s journey is a testament to resilience, clarity, and a strong sense of purpose. For aspiring women leaders in healthcare or recruitment, her advice is simple but powerful: “Believe in the value of your work. Don’t wait for the ‘perfect’ time or role. Start where you are, and grow with consistency.”
As Fast Track Solutions continues to expand and impact the healthcare sector across borders, Seema stands as a beacon of what’s possible when entrepreneurial ambition meets genuine care for people and purpose.
