Background-
Burjeel Holdings has launched a dedicated affordable healthcare division in the UAE, bringing its LLH, Lifecare and Medeor brands under one leadership team. The move creates one platform for the group’s affordable care services.
The division runs six hospitals, 24 medical centers and clinics, and more than 500 beds. The network employs over 2,400 physicians, nurses and allied health professionals. Medeor operates hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, LLH in Abu Dhabi and Musaffah, and Lifecare in Musaffah and Baniyas.
Each brand serves a distinct group. LLH cares for middle- and lower-income communities, Lifecare supports industrial workforces, and Medeor serves middle-income expatriates and families.
Burjeel said the division will offer lower price points and run on a leaner cost base, with more efficient workforce deployment, while it keeps profitability in line with the group’s wider healthcare portfolio. The model aims to make quality care reachable for more residents.
The company also plans a new 75-bed LLH Hospital in Jebel Ali, Dubai. It will provide emergency, occupational, primary and multispecialty care for the area’s industrial workforce. Burjeel will also add more than 10 clinics across the Emirates.
Patients who need complex treatment will move to the group’s tertiary and quaternary facilities, including Burjeel Medical City, and receive follow-up care locally where suitable.
Narendra D Sonigra, who served as regional director of operations for the three brands in Abu Dhabi, now serves as chief executive officer of the platform.
